Hair Styling Tips: How to Fix Hair Styling Challenges and Choose Hair Style

The easiest method of hair styling that everyone is familiar with is wash, dry and comb. For you to look chic and trendy you need more knowledge of hair styling techniques to make your hair styling routine quick, painless, and easy part of your daily beauty regime.
Here are few tips to help sharpen your knowledge:

Fixing Common Hair Styling Issues

  • Taking care of Fly- Away Hair: The moisture retained by hair follicle prevents fly away hair. Therefore when your hair becomes dry you need to add supplementary moisture to your hair. This is what commercial conditioners will do to your hair. However a cheap and natural alternative
    is safflower oil.
Add a few drops of safflower oil between your palms and rub. Scrunch the oil into your hair, beginning at the ends and move towards the scalp. This treatment will fly away hair and frizzies in check.
  • Building Volume into Thin Hair: Lean over to make your hair hang forward while your hair is still damp. Start drying your hair beginning at the nape of your neck and move towards your forehead. When you finish drying your hair, flip it back and you will notice you’ve created a fuller hair out of your thin hair volume.

  • Taking care of bang cowlick: A cowlick is a patch of hair which grows in a different direction, and so it will not normally lie flat. Bangs are perfect fits for angular face, but not when accompanied by a cowlick. To checkmate bang cowlicks, use a round brush or vented dryer to try drying bangs forward.   You can also use your cowlick to your advantage by: imitating the lift of your cowlick in other sections of your bangs using a styling brush or vented brush, or weigh down the cowlick by pulling short layers forward. You can also part your hair at your cowlick to add a look of natural lift to your bangs.
  • Roll Your Hair Under. Don’t Flip Out: If your Hair is rubbing you the wrong way don’t flip out. Instead use your vented brush to roll hair into the pageboy style. Get your hair to about 75% dry, and then to the ends of your hair apply a spray. With your dryer set at hot, use your vented or styling brush to roll your hair under. Apply the blow dryer for about 15 seconds, and then allow the curl to cool for about 10 seconds. Remove the styling appliance carefully.

How to Choose Your Hair style

The most important consideration in making a hair style choice is your face shape.  In determining your face shape you will need a bar soap and a water soluble marker.
Wet and slick back short hair, and form long hair into a pony tail. Looking at your reflection in a mirror, trace the outline of your face. Using your hair line begin with the center of your forehead to temple, jawbone, chin, jawbone, temple, and return to forehead. Take a look at your outline. It should look like any one of seven shapes; Diamond, Rectangular, Heart, Round, Square, Triangle, and Oval.

  • Diamond: This face shape allows you to try different hair styles. To add weight to your narrow chin, leave weight at the nape of your neck. Keep the hair away from your face to avoid covering you beautiful bone structure.

  • Rectangular: This face shape is also referred to as oblong. Keep your hair above shoulder length while you work to add volume at the sides of your hair style. Short or medium hair styles are ideal for this face shape. High hair, long hair, and center parts will tend to lengthen your face. Make use of romantic tendrils and wispy bangs to soften the angles.

  • Heart: Hair styling at chin length or longer are great on this face shape.
Add volume or fullness where you need it. If you want to accent your eyes and beautiful cheekbones use wispy bangs layered at the sides to flow forward.

  • Round: Adding some height at your crown will lengthen your face to give it an oval appearance. Wear long or short hair do, but avoid the medium styles. To take attention away from your face symmetry, wear off centered parts. To bring out the best of your features keep your hair swept back.

  • Square: The ideal accent for a square face is natural curly hair. If you don’t have it, try body wave or a perm.

  • Triangle: This is the exact opposite of heart shape. Short cuts are the ideal styles for this face shape. Give consideration to styles that feature volume at the temple. You may consider styles like shags, and wedges.

  • Oval: This is the ideal face shape. This shape allows you to wear any hair style you choose. But, don’t mess up your hair style with forward directed hair that will cover your beautiful cheekbones.

Getting the best out of your hair style may require the use of some hair styling accessories most of which you may be familiar with.
